The passion, seduction and melancoly of Tango and the glorious music of Opera are combined in “Maria de Buenos Aires” a world-renowned production featuring music by Astor Piazzolla and songs by Horacio Ferrer. Brought to Washington by the Teatro Colon, Latin America’s greatest Opera House, the ensemble includes a cast of over thirty of Colon’s most acclaimed Uruguayan and Argentine artists, including the beautiful Patrice Barone who plays “Maria” and Nelson Pino, “The Ghost.” These powerful songs, music and dance will delight Washington audiences while providing them with a completely new artistic vision of tango and opera at their best.
